Marketplace platforms need a way to ensure that they are working with reliable and ethical merchants, preferably direct from manufacturers. During the boom years of the marketplace industry, too much fraudulent and shady selling practices persist at major marketplaces ranging from fake reviews, fraudulent transactions meant to manipulate search mechanism, arbitrage listings, unsafe products that cause health or environmental hazards and blatant knockoffs that infringed many patent laws. Billions of dollars of sales were lost, and years of goodwill eroded. Reliable and trustworthy manufacturers need help to regain and maintain platform trust.
